A Longtime Leader in Accelerated Education, ѻý Introduces an Even Faster Path to the Workforce with Career-Focused Bachelor’s Degrees in High-Demand Fields
EAST GREENWICH, R.I. – March 24, 2025 – Since 1940, the New England Institute of Technology (ѻý) has been a leader in hands-on education and accelerated degree programs. Today, ѻý announced an even faster path to the workforce with the launch of a new bachelor’s degree offering that can be completed in just 24 months. Beginning Fall 2025, students will have the opportunity to earn a Career-Focused Bachelor of Science degree in 24 months across four high-demand fields: Cybersecurity, Business Management, Graphic Design, and Criminal Justice. This new offering makes ѻý one of the first in the country to structure a three-year reduced credit bachelor’s degree that can be completed in two years by attending year-round.
“For over 85 years, ѻý has led the way in providing accelerated degrees that put students into the workforce and earning a salary faster,” said Doug Sherman, Senior Vice President and Provost at New England Institute of Technology. “With these new programs, we’re doubling down on that mission – offering students an even faster way to earn a high-quality, industry-aligned degree without unnecessary delays.”
With a growing shortage of skilled workers, ѻý recognizes the growing demand for a flexible, quality education that helps students enter the workforce sooner. The career-focused bachelor’s degree programs will maintain the high-quality, industry-relevant curriculum that ѻý is known for while accelerating the path to graduation.
These 135-140 quarter credit programs (equivalent to 90-semester credits) will be delivered over eight academic terms, plus two five-week summer terms, totaling 90 weeks of full-time study completed over two calendar years (24 months). Through this accelerated path, students that qualify for these programs will save 25% on tuition costs plus get into the workforce one year earlier.
ѻý currently offers all degree programs with an accelerated track option so that students can complete an associate degree in 18 months, or a bachelor’s degree in just three years. This new 24 month offering will create more accessible pathways for career-driven education with less financial burden. By completing their degrees in just two calendar years, students not only save time but also reduce overall tuition costs and enter the workforce faster.
“Our four program offerings have been strategically chosen to align with growing industries, ensuring strong job opportunities for graduates,” said Amy Grzybowski, Vice President of Workforce Development and Community Relations. “By focusing on high-demand fields, we are not only supporting student success but also supporting local employers and our economy.”
In addition to accelerated pathways, ѻý recently announced a 47% reduction in tuition across a variety of skilled trades programs, furthering its commitment to providing affordable and accessible education that empowers the next generation of people in the professional building trades.
New England Institute of Technology’s unique approach to education emphasizes hands-on, immersive learning from day one. Through small class sizes, state-of-the-art simulation labs, and expert faculty, students gain real-world experience that sets them apart in the job market without sacrificing added time or money.

NECHE Disclosure
New England Institute of Technology (ѻý) has launched an innovative option for students to obtain their Baccalaureate Degrees in just 24 months. The university’s accreditor, the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), has approved these “Career-Focused” reduced-time and reduced-credit programs in lieu of the standard program that takes four academic years.
Given the novel nature of the programs, students should be aware of the following:
These new Career-Focused Bachelor’s degree programs consist of three academic years, 135-140 quarter credit hours, (equivalent to 90 semester credits) that are delivered over two calendar years (24 months).
Career-Focused programs are best suited to students committed to a particular field or discipline, students who have a clear career objective, and/or students who are focused on pursing near-term employment in their chosen industry as practitioners.
To enable students to complete the Career-Focused programs in less time and with fewer credits, these programs will be highly structured with limited or no elective credits.
ѻý’s Career-Focused baccalaureate programs are eligible for Title IV federal financial aid. However, students who leave ѻý having completed a Career-Focused baccalaureate degree but later choose to return to ѻý or attend another institution to complete additional undergraduate credits, either to earn a Certificate of Post-baccalaureate Studies or to earn a second baccalaureate degree, will not be eligible for federal grant aid and may have limited eligibility for other federal aid programs. For more details, see and .
Given that ѻý’s Career-Focused programs are designed to be completed within two calendar years/eight quarters, students can expect to save a full year of tuition fees and related costs, including room and board, assuming they complete the program within the expected time frame.
ѻý’s reduced credit Career-Focused programs will be sufficient to meet admission requirements for ѻý master’s degree programs. However, other institutions may have different admission requirements, and such institutions may not accept ѻý’s reduced credit Career-Focused program as an undergraduate credential sufficient for admission. It is critical that students confirm specific requirements with their institutions of choice.
Baccalaureate degrees of fewer than 120 credits, such as ѻý’s reduced credit Career-Focused programs, are not guaranteed to be accepted by all employers. It is critical that students confirm specific requirements with their employers of choice.
ѻý’s Career-Focused programs will be available for the following degrees:
Career-Focused Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity
Career-Focused Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
Career-Focused Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design
Career-Focused Bachelor of Science in Business Management
